GFR Founder - Ted ManziarisWelcome to the Greek Film Retrospective a cultural event highlighting magnificent Hellenic expressions of art and cinematography. The bringing together of people, however common to many cultures, is a notion that is deeply endemic to our own – Hellenism holds this ideal strong.

This year, we came back home, to the Danforth. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude and thanks to Mr Dino Vodonichola, President of GreekTown on the Danforth BIA, for making this dream our reality.

We would also like to thank our sponsors, supporters and friends, without whose support we would not have been able to continue to provide excellent programming with no general admission, for our entire community to enjoy.

I feel proudly indebted to the Consul General of Greece, The Honorable Dimitri Azemopoulos whose inspiration to create a function for the entire Greek Diaspora to enjoy led to the formation of this event. Without his continuous heartwarming support we would not be here today. The Greek Film Retrospective will remain part of his ever lasting legacy in Toronto.

Last but not least, I would like to acknowledge the passion and hard work invested by our team of volunteers who have made the impossible possible – especially our Executive Director Mr Dannis Koromilas, who has and will continue to usher the Greek Film Retrospective onto the next level of organization.

Here's to all of you.

Ted Manziaris
